Customers often ask us what type of caster can be installed on wooden office chairs and other wood furniture. The wood stem caster is the answer. A wood stem mount is only one type of standard caster mount made to install in a chair with a wooden base or tables and other wood furniture. Each of our wood stem casters comes with a mounting socket. Installing wood stem casters is easy.
To Install the wood stem caster:
Drill a 3/8" x 1-5/8" hole in the wood and pound the metal socket into the hole with a mallet or lightly with a hammer. Then pop the wood stem caster into the socket.
To remove prior wood stem casters use the claw end of the hammer to pry out the old caster and socket.
